How

  • Put God First
    • Matthew 6:33—But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
    • Luke 9:23—And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
  • Don’t Covet (Lust of the Eyes)
    • I John 2:15-16—Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world–the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions–is not from the Father but is from the world.
    • Romans 12:2—Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
    • Matthew 4:8-10— Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.'”

  • Satan tempted Adam and Eve with the same 3 temptations that He tempted Jesus in the wilderness: food (lust of the flesh), possessions (lust of the eyes), and power (Pride of Life).
